An Irregular at Magic High School: ANIME REVIEW

I've always hated the fact that magic does not exist. Yet, I believe that technology will advance so much one day that we will be able to call it magic. And imagine this now, just ten days ago I came across an anime that kinda pictures that "Techno-magic" I was thinking about. I'll let you now enjoy the review on "An Irregular at Magic High School".

Plot and Story Line

You remember maybe how Sword Art Online did that story-line thing, where the whole plot is actually made up of shorter stories (SAO, ALO, GGO...). Well, you have the same situation in AIAMHS too. They tell one shorter story in about eight episodes, and three or four such stories made the show. But what is this anime about now?
As I mentioned in the beginning, magic is not magic how it used to be. Instead of colorful spells, bright lights, stars, cepters etc, you have codes. One code, one spell and they are all casted by Casting Assistant Devices, or in short CADs. The CADs are all designed and made by magic-engineers. One of those, and very talented one, is our protagonist Shiba, Tatsuya. Still, most of society knows him as just Tatsuya, a first-grade student at First MAgic High School. Because of his "bad test results" Tatsuya made it only into the second course, while his sister Miyuki attends the first course lessons. That's basically it about the plot. The short stories now are mostly result of governmental affairs,  competitions, and teenage problems. Talking about teenage problems, I kinda got used to first-degree-cousin-relationships in anime, bit this went to far. This could have been the best sibling-relationship ever, but no. Let's make a romance of it. I mean that looks just ridiculous. That's the first problem I have with this anime, but it can be overseen somehow. The second problem is way bigger. It's not a huge, it's an enormous plot hole. What or who is Tatsuya, who is his aunt, what happened to his mother, why is his family acting like this? This anime leaves all these questions open, just like that. However, I liked this anime enough to believe that this is not the end. I think, or more hope, that there will be a second season that will answer all the questions I have.  But despite all that, this anime still has a point that blends out the cons at least for a little bit. One word. ACTION! This anime has one of the best action I've ever seen. The fights were just epic, with so many different powers and bad-ass characters. I was amazed. Both thumbs up for that. that was also the most interesting thing about this anime.
My first thought about this show was "Techno-Magic, really?". I mean it kinda humiliates the good-old magic we all know. However, it was interesting and fresh. Something new. It proved that there are still some makers that don't lack in ingenuity. Who would have ever thought that sci-fi and magic could be combined in this way. "The Irregular at Magic High School" (If only they had a better title).

Characters

Now we come to problem three in this anime. The characters. The personalities are basically are the same, there is not a single character development and no uniqueness at all. There are maybe four or five characters that stood out a little bit like Erika, Sayaka and Misaki, and of course the main Tatsuya. But that's it. Still, as always I'll introduce you to the two mains. Tatsuya and Miyuki.

SHIBA TATSUYA. Dear makers, was it possible to make Tatsuya even better? I think not. He was perfect, and I hate perfect character. He is strong, unbeatable, good-looking, smart, charismatic, should I continue? He was invincible. Although it was awesome to see him fight, his personality was boring. Also it was impossible for him to develop his character. I didn't like him.

SHIBA MIYUKA. This is probably the most anoying character I've ever seen. She is cute and everything, but sooooo annoying. Still I have to say that she is a caring, talented and hard-working girl. She is also kind of that perfect characters that everybody adores. One of the cutest scenes in the anime is when Masaki, from Third Magic High School, askes her to dance with him. Kawaii.

Animation and Style

This is one of the pros of this show. The animation is just perfect. I really enjoyed watching it. It shone the most in the action scenes. The way the spells were casted was so amusing. I loved it. When it comes to the style, it's probably nothing special. Just standard character looks, landscapes and backgrounds. On the whole it was good, no objections here.

Conclusion

Well, well, well. An Irregular at Magic High School was a good anime. It is not a waste of time, but there are more better anime worth wasting your time on. It is amusing, interesting and catchy. The thing that made me like this anime is probably the fact that it reminded me on my school and system. My school also has some kind of first and second course, and competitions with our "Sister-Schools". Try this anime I hope you will like it more than I did.

P.S. I planed to write this review a few days ago, but I have been called to a Physics Camp and I couldn't miss it. Sorry for that.
I also wanted to say that this will probably be the last review for this summer. School is starting this Tuesday and I'll have a lot of obligations since I am a senior this year. That's why I won't be able to write that much, but I'll try to write as often as possible.  Good luck you all in the new school year!

The Portrait Studio

The Portrait Studio is a short by Takashi Nakamura that chronicles the shared life experiences of a little girl and a photographer. It begins with a young couple visiting the studio for the wife to get her portrait taken. Later they return with their baby daughter who always looks grumpy. The jovial photographer futilely tries to coax a smile out her; he does so again and again every time the little girl returns. As time passes the two of them share important personal moments and witness historical events.

As you watch the film what becomes apparent is the use of visual repetition. Specifically the repeated visual motif of the wide shot of the photographer’s house and the stairs leading up to the house. Also, throughout the short the house and stairs barely change. The lack of change combined with the repetition establishes them as visual constants. By having constants to contrast against it made the changes that occur in the characters and the setting more dramatic and striking.

The visual repetition also helped depict the routineness of the little girl getting her portrait taken. Every time she goes up the same stairs to the same house as she and everything else around her change. It’s a reflection of real life which can be full of repetition and routine but as time passes by things do gradually change around us.

The repeated wide shot of the house remained constant amongst the modernization, urbanization, the earthquake and the destruction brought by World War II. The evolution of transportation from a rickshaw to the modern train was also a nice touch.

Here the constant are the stairs and we see the little girl and her family travel up the same steps throughout the years. The changes here are more personal as we see her grow up to a young woman, become a teacher, and then grow old.

Also, the art and composition of this short are very flat. The camera work was straight forward and neutral. Any shots that would provide a sense of depth were mostly avoided such as angled shots, over the shoulder shots and shallow focus. There were very little perspective lines especially in the beginning. Even as the architecture of the surrounding buildings became more three-dimensional they weren’t organized to together form cohesive vanishing points. This lack of organization maintained the illusion of flatness.  The flatness of course was intentional. The simple and yet elegant visuals fit the subdued and quiet nature of the film.

Code Geass (2007)

You know that meme "Lie down, Try not to cry, Cry a lot"? Ah, that's how I felt in the end of the second season of this anime. I mean while watching, I cried. I watched it tomorrow again and I cried again. I even watched it in German dub and cried. German dub, you know how ridiculous that sounds. I waited a long time for a "Masterpiece " anime like this, and finally I was able to rate a show as a 10/10 on MAL. May I present you the best anime I've seen so far. CODE GEASS: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Plot and Story Line

Guys, I guarantee you this will be the best anime story you'll ever watch. It doesn't lack in any aspect of a good anime. The story is intriguing, the plot is smooth and the main story line is just perfect. Also it didn't lack in good background stories at all. Goro Taniguchi, the Original Creator of Code Geass, has an ingenuity I've never seen in my life before. And I wanna say thanks for giving us this anime. I have to admit that I was rather sceptical whether I'd like it or not, but thank God I did. Now let's see what the story actually looks like.
Well, in 2010 the Holy Empire of Britannia began a campaign of conquest, with Japan as its target. Because of the advanced armour technology of Britannia, Japan was soon taken over and its pride, rights and identity were gone. Now its called Area 11 and its citizens, the Elevens, are forced on a harsh life while the Britannian aristocracy lives and opulent and luxuriant life. One of the aristocrats is Lelouch Lamperouge that lives together with his little sister Nunnally. What nobody knows about them, they both are an exiled Prince and Princess of Britannia. His life as a normal High School student ends after he meets C.C. by accident. A rather strange girl that gives him the Power of the King. The Geass. With the power of dominance over any person Lelouch starts his fight against Britannia with the wish to bring down Britannia from the inside. I won't tell you the reason he did that, I want you to find it out on your own while watching.
There are a few acpects of the show regarding the story that have to be mentioned.
First of all, THE ACTION. The whole Code Geass story is basicly a revolution so of curse there will be a lot of action. I was sceptical in the beginning whether I will like those robot like human-armor but after watching I few episodes I fell in love. True I saw those in Guilty Crown too but I didn't pay that much atention on them. The battles are epic, interesting and although Lelouch is such a master-mind he wasn't winning all the time.
Second thing, THE PLOT TWISTS. This made me crazy. I mean, so many things happened in this anime that I thought were impossibe to happen. Aaaagh! One plot twist happened in the end, and that's the thing that made me cry. Me, cry. I've never cried before. Not even in Angle Beats. But I did cry here. Hat down for that.
Thirdly, THE EMOTIONALITY. Whether it is a romance, or sibling/friend love, hatred, excitement, sadness, obedience, patriotism...Everything is there and it's manifested to the very maximum. You should see that emotion breakouts, it really gives you goose bumps. I am not kidding.
Forth, and last thing. Tell me one thing that anime makers usually get wrong. Well, mostly it is theSECOND HALF, or even the whole SECOND SEASON. I was so scared that this would happen to Code Geass, but...It did not. The second season was even better than the first one and episode for episode the story got more and more interesting.
Code Geass is an example of how an anime should be. Interesting, catchy, with a smooth story yet having some surprises prepared. But please anime makers, don't do the Guilty Crown thing. Just don't.

Characters

This anime's characters are maybe one of the best I have seen. They are so unique and there are not a lot cliche personalities that you see in other anime. What I mostly liked about the main characters are their flaws. The imperfection of their personality. It gave the show a little extra and a fresh scent. Here are the four of the main characters for you:

LELOUCH: His main problem was that he wanted to acheive his goal trough the goal of others. A mastermind I've never seen before. I envied him on his care for Nunnally and cleverness of curse. A very rational character with clear goals not affraid of taking risks. The only thing I don't get is how I can hate and love Lelouch at the same time. I really cant say. That's why, as a character, brilliant.

KALLEN kinda reminds me of Touka from Tokyo Ghoul. A strong, independent, badass woman that knows what she is fighting for. I, my self, am a great patriot, and that's the common characteristic we share. She became one of my "idol-characters" after watching this anime. And with great extent, one of my favorite characters ever.

SUZAKU: Although he looks like the cutest character of all, I hated him. How could you fight your own people? I don't get it. He was not scared of Britannia, he was just too naive. I know I can't blame you for that. But I certanly can for betraying your best friend. Not cool at all.

And in the end...I am sorry for saying this, but this woman is a bit*h. C.C. is so self-centerd and evil, I mean making a contract with someone without telling him the outcome. Come on! Too bad she fell in love and regretted what she has done. It's a bit too late in the end, but she managed it somehow with Lelouch's help. Still, I have to admit, I loved her. Her personality fitted just right in all those happenings.

Animation and Style

Aaaam...again, there is not much to talk about animation. It is very good, no flaws. When it comes to the animation style I must say that it is a bit different. I mean you can see it on the character looks. Still it is not bad at all, and why not be a bit unique. One more thing I need to mention here are the sound and music. Both opening and ending songs are great an the music inside the anime is brilliant. I really enjoyed it.

Conclusion

I can't believe this review beacame so long, but an anime like Code Geass maybe deserves even a longer one. The thing is that this show is perfect in every aspect possible. Story, plot, characters, emotions, action, animation, style, music...Every Single Thing is perfect! If you haven't watched Code Geass, go! Right Now! It's an order! I loved Code Geass, and I haven't met a single person yet that doesn't. I'd really like to know if there is a single person that doesn't like this anime. Let me know if you know someone.
In short, Code Geass is truly a MASTERPIECE!

Tokyo Ghoul (2014)

"To be, or not to be" says William Shakespeare in Hamlet. If Sui Ishida was a poet, he would maybe have written something similar to this, "To be, or not to be a ghoul". But Mr.Ishida is Japanese, not English and that's why he wrote a manga and made a lot of Otakus very happy. In 2014 an, on this manga based, anime came out, with the same name. May I present...TOKYO GHOUL!

Plot and Story Line

Okay, before I start with the plot and story I have to make one thing clear. Although the manga and the anime are similar, they are not the same. Funimation changed the chronology  and a trifle of the main plot  and added some annoying censorship (more about it in animation section). The main story line however, remains the same, and let's review this thing already.
We firstly need a setting for this story. Tokyo, Japan. In recent time the city is being haunted by half-human half-monster creatures called Ghouls. The ghouls have special abilities and enormous strenght, but have to carry the "curse" of not being able to eat human food. They have to eat human flash in order to survive. But eventough it's hard for them to survive without it, some ghouls try not to eat humans. At least not the living ones. In such a crazy world lives Ken Kaneki, a rather ordinary 18-year-old university student. One day, Kaneki decides to go out on a date with a very intelligent, as he thought, girl called Rize. Poor Kankei, he didn't know what was waiting for him. While walking Rize home, she suddenly attacs him and reveals her true self. Yes Kaneki, Rize is a ghoul. I am sorry. Luckily, an accident on the construction side, stopped Rize from eating Kaneki, yet he had to be hospitalized. In order to save his life the doctor Kanou transplanted some of Rize's organs into Kaneki. But what Kaneki thought was a kidney was actually Rize's kagune (a ghoul's predatory organ used as their weapon). Dear dr.Kanou, that usually  makes experiments with ghouls, turned our cute, innocent Kaneki into a half-ghoul. And that's my dear readers when everythings starts.
I mentioned the Hamlet quote for a good reason, because most of the anime turns into a fight of human-Kaneki and ghoul-Kaneki. The steady struggle inside kills him (not literary). Just imagine the pain he had trying not to eat human beings, being one too just a day ago.

His moral and attachment to humanity kept him up all this time. And as such, he also tryed to make the humans and ghouls understand each other. In a couple of moments he spares the life of ghoul investigators trying to explain that ghouls also have a human side, like him and the other non-human-eating-ghouls at Ainteku. Unfortunately, that didn't work. His dream as a half-ghoul to be the linking bound between those two worlds turned into a nighmare and made him realize on thing: "This world is wrong". (This pic is from the manga, still the same thing happens in the anime.)

If you decide to watch or read Tokyo Ghoul, be prepared. There is so much action, so many fights and so many bloodshead. It is just amazing. I really love action and there were some action scenes I watched twice. I just had to, because they were so epic. If you are a action-adict as me, I am sure that you will love Tokyo Ghoul. I garantee you an intersting story from the very beginning making you imaptient for the third season to air.
The only little disadvantage of this anime are some plot holes in the background stories but they are negligible.
I became a huge fan of Tokyo Ghoul after watching it. You should see my school notebooks. Full of drawings of Suzuya, Touka and my own Tokyo Ghoul O.C.s. Now let's see the characters.

Characters

Hmm...Wahat to say about the characters. Just great. There are so many different charactes, unique personalities and awesome character developments regarding their background stories. I loved almost every character in this anime, whether he was a villian or a hero. The "almost every" is beacuse of the one and only guy I hated in this anime. Ayato Kirishima, the younger brother of Touka. I just didn't like his attitude and the way he thought about the world. Nevermind, let's move on to the three I want to talk about.

KEN KANEKI as said in the beginning, an ordianry 18-year-old student that loves to read in his free time. Although most people would call him weak and a cry-baby, I wouldn't. His pain is so damn hard to bear because he was made as a ghoul, he wasn't born as one. You have to look at it from his point of view. I envied him on his humanity and attitude, I really did.

There she is. TOUKA KIRISHIMA is such a badass of a woman. She is so strong and independent, and although she looks cold-hearted, deep inside she is a very caring and nice person always ready to save the ones that are close to her. I also have to mention the way she manages to have a normal human life despite being a ghoul. I am actually a bit sad about her loosing her tuff and badass personality in the end, not fair Mr.Ishida and Funimation.

This is my favorite character of all. JUUZOU SUZUYA is a childish, optimistic and crazy person that went trough a lot of pain in his childhood. He is so funny but detremine and careless that makes him the most unigue character I've ever seen. His personality developes to a more responsible ghoul investigator in the Tokyo Ghoul: Re manga series. It's still airing...

Animation and Style

As said in the previous review I decided to add "Style" to this review section, so let's see. Firstly the animation. As expected from a 2014 anime, the animation is awesome. Bright and dark colors when needed, awesome backrounds and what's most to pride is the caharacter design. The style of this anime is also outstanding. One of the best I've ever seen. It's unique and special, just beautiful.I have to mention the fact that that's the reason that made me watch this anime. A good friend of mine told me about the epic animation of Tokyo Ghoul and I thought :"I have to see that one". I wasn't disappointed and became a great fan in an instant.

Conclusion:

Watch Tokyo Ghoul folks! It is amazing and has already become a cliche anime in the world. You have an interesting story a smooth plot, some awesome characters and unfrgetable fights. I truly recommend you to watch it and please don't judge it on the first glance, there is a lot of deep stuff in this show. My dear readers, Tokyo Ghoul!

Death Parade: ANIME REVIEW

I don't know what's going on but recently I've watched nothing but anime that involve psychology and game-play. My last review was on Btooom! and it had that psychology and real-life-game-play stuff, but this anime...I never thought it would be so into psychology of a person, and not just that. It really got to the core of someone's soul. I have to admit that I was rather skeptical in the beginning, but I am so happy that I didn't give up on it. An outstanding show.
Dear readers, DEATH PARADE!

PLOT AND STORY LINE

First thing you should know is that this anime doesn't have an actual story line. I mean it has,but take it like this. Like every anime and show, Death Parade has also the main story and the "side-stories" . The only difference is that in death Parade those "side-stories" are the main part of the anime. To make it easier to understand my as usual complex view I'll talk about both of them.
In the world of Death parade the dead ones are not sent into Heaven or Hell, but into the Void or they are being reincarnated. Some humans however, at the instant of their death come to the Quindecim and meet arbiters. The Quindecim is something like a bar where arbiters make the dead ones  to play some games like cards, twister, arcade etc. But not for fun. Those games are played for the reason of revealing the true nature of a person. After the game ends the arbiter sends the players either to the void or reincarnation. So now that we have all set, I talk about the main/side-story stuff.
In the middle of the story, as the main one, you have the arbiter Decim. They are not human and so they don't have emotions. But after meeting Kurokami he begins to feel something. Just to make it clear, it won't be a romance. His struggle between the rules as arbiter and the human feelings that are slowly taking over kinda reflect the craziness of the world we are living in. Everybody just wants money, fame and some irrelevant stuff while forgetting to be human. It had to be said. Maybe you won't feel the same, but I am really sensitive when it comes to humanity and the situation we live in.
Now we come to the side-stories. As said before the side-stories made the anime. The side stories are actually about the games and the background stories of the players. In every game participate two players, and while playing they are tested to the maximum. The games reveal the deepest thoughts and the very core of each soul. They show if a person is worth the reincarnation. I personally think that the games are brutal. I mean they take you to the maximum, to the turning point of what made you the person you are. That is the part that made me feel so sorry for all those people. You have a lone mother that has to care of five children, a man that took his own life, a brother and husband that want to revenge the women they love, a fighting couple in their honeymoon etc. Those people are dead, but still believe and pray for the one thing that makes them human. My personal side-story is the game between the boy-bend singer and his biggest girl-fan. It was funny, yet so emotional and I liked it very much.
Death Parade is an outstanding story as a whole. I have never felt so much pain about each character. I laughed, I nearly cried, I was curious, I felt sorry, I wanted more but the end came at the twelfth episode. This Death Parade story has ended, but I believe there are ways of making an awesome second season. I am looking forward to it.

CHARACTERS

Every character in this anime is special on its own. I mean, it is an psychological type of anime and if I went on talking about the unique personality of each character it would take me ages. Just in short, every character is specific and different, depending on the life they had. Their uniqueness made the story so catchy and amusing. Because of his importance I'll say a few things about Decim.

As said in the beginning, Decim is the main arbiter in the show. Always with a serious face, always professional and with huge respect of those who had a fulfilled life. The way he excused his self all the time made me like him so much. His motto as I think "I may be the one that gives the judgement, but that doesn't give me the right to be impolite". That's it. Even if he had power he remained kind and that's when a person becomes truly human.

ANIMATION

I didn't mention the amazing animation of this anime, did I? I didn't. Well it was amazing! It is maybe in the rank of Guilty Crown and Psycho-Pass, just outstanding. One thing about animation. Lately a good animation has become mainstream. I mean we are in 2015, and the strange animation of the anime in the first decade of 2000 is over. The only new thing a reviewer can say about the animation of an anime is that it is bad, but I don't think something like this will appear ever again. I am thinking of adding "Style" as one of the parts of my reviews. We shall see...

CONCLUSION

Well, we came to the end. I will make it short for you now because I think you have an anime to watch now. And it is probably Death Parade. It is as I said many times just amazing. The story is amazing, the characters are amazing, the animation, everything. No plot holes, no stupid adds and fillers, pure enjoyment. Catchy, interesting and emotional.
DEATH PARADE!

Btooom!: ANIME REVIEW

Let the 76th annual Hunger Games begin!
But wait, we are not in Panem, we are in Japan. Soo, the survivor games are not called "The Hunger Games" but "Btooom!". Considering this, today's anime review would be "Btooom!"

 Plot and Storyline

As mentioned in the intro, this anime really reminded me of The Hunger Games. And now you'll hear why. The story is set in a world where currently a very popular game called Batoom! is infecting the life of millions all around the world. One of the world's best players is Ryouta Sakamoto. He is a need without a job that only lives for that game. One day he suddenly wakes up hanging with a parachute from a tree in a jungle. He didn't know where he was or what happened to him, but soon he will find out. While walking on that lonely island a man attacked him with bombs, trying to kill him of curse. That's when he realized. He was trapped on that island by the makers of Btooom! along with others being forced to play the game for real. The rules are the same as in the game. Use only bombs, and each player gets another type of bombs. You have to kill at least seven people and take their crystals if you want to escape the island alive. The thing I found most interesting about this anime is the way the players were selected. I don't want to spoil you that, but I promise that kinda represents the sickness of our society.
This anime, how I think, is first of all a psychological one. The anime deals with the mind of people like non other. The whole time it was about the thought of killing others just to save your own life. What is more important, a life of someone or your own? A question that forced a lot of people to loose their mind on the island. But we also have the ones that didn't need a second thought and mercilessly killed to survive. The ones responsible for this kinda made of it a TV show but not everybody can watch it. What ever, the real-life-game looks like a psychology experiment done by a crazy scientist where he wants to understand the nature of soul it self.
A cute, little romance is also also a part of this whole story. The fact that surprised me is that they kinda confessed to each other in the end, whats mostly unlikely in an anime to happen.  The
The show also doesn't lack in action and funny moments. It is an exciting story with no plot holes that only makes you want more and more. The only question that is left open in the end is "Where is season two?". Honestly now, this is not the greatest anime I've watched but it definitely deserves another season. Besides, the story is unfinished soo...

Characters

It is a psychological anime so it implies that you get the chance to "meet" each character and learn about their personality. You have a colorful bunch of characteristics from needs, to 14-year-old psychos and rapers. Here for you I have the two mains:

RYOUTA  SAKAMOTO is a typical NEED character without a job in his twenties. As he later realizes he always cared just about his self, making it look like he does things for others. But despite that he knew that it is not human to kill others just to survive. Ryouta experiences a huge character development and becomes a responsible young man that knows what he has to change in his life.

As one of the few female characters HIMIKO's life on the island becomes real hell. In the beginning of the story Himiko becomes a victim of raping and turns into a man hating girl right after that. In a situation of death or being raped she rather chooses death. That's a thing I admire about her. She later on gains trust in men after meeting Ryouta, but her fear never disappears. A strong female character that maked the story even more interesting.

Animation

The animation of this anime is really good. I liked it. The action scenes and bombs are well done just like all the characters in this anime. The landscapes are also beautiful and mostly bright but also dark where it should be. There is nothing much to talk about animation. I'd give it a 8/10. Nice work!

Conclusion

This anime is definitely a show I would recommend you to watch. It is catchy, interesting, and enjoyable to watch. It is rich in action and all that psychological stuff makes you very curious.  What I have to say about this anime is that it honestly looks like a mix of Hunger Games and Sword Art Online, but it is not bad.

It is rich in background stories but doesn't leave plot holes at all. I loved it, I think you will too, so give it a try.

Black Bullet: ANIME REVIEW

I hate bugs. And I think a lot of you share my hatred. Now imagine a world where you have bugs that are three, four or even five times bigger than you. Would you dare to fight them? Well in the world of this anime, you have no choice but to fight. Today's anime review a on MAL 7,51 rated show called BLACK BULLET.

Plot and Storyline

I would probably freak out in a world like this. In the near future a viral parasites named Gastrea broke out and defeated the mankind. Gatreas are basically bug-like monsters that kill people. But the biggest problem about them is that they can turn people into monsters when they infect them with the virus. Still, the virus can effect the people in another way. Imagine what happens when a pregnant woman is infected. Well, her child, and always a girl, turns into a "cursed child", being just a human but with special powers. The government uses those children to fight Gastrea together with Civil officers and always in pairs. One of the pairs are also the protagonist of our story. Enju and Rentarou became partners a year ago and have been close to each other since that day. Their strength was about to be proven after they were assigned to their   most important and dangerous mission. The prevention of destruction of their hometown, Tokyo.
The, let's say, main story was nicely done. A smooth development, no stupid adds and no plot holes. It was very interesting to watch and it definitely made me more and more curious with each episode. Still, I have one reproach. There is a side story in this anime which appeared somewhere in the middle and in the end. That "side story" was actually just an enormous plot hole. To be honest I didn't even understand what it was all about. It seemed so important but was bumped into half of an episode. The story could have lived even without it and I found it more confusing rather than interesting.
I felt like the story kinda carried a transparent layer of something we face everyday. It shows how society usually deals with the part of population that sticks out for a certain reason. Even though they might help and contribute to the society, people often abandon them because they are scared of changes. Even though the Gastrea-girls can help and even save society, there are still persons who hate and discriminate them.
An interesting and catchy story that can help you to overcome boredom anytime a day.

Characters

The characters in this anime are not that special, or rather not special at all. I mean it is a 13 episoded anime, and as expected it is too short for some awesome character developments. Still I liked one of the mains just because she was  awesomely cute and that's it. This time the two mains:

AIHARA ENJU is one of the cutest anime characters I've ever seen. She is always so optimistic and caring, yet determine and persistent. Enju is a strong ten-year-old and I am sure that she would have grow into a great character later on. Her main goal in the series, how I thought, was just a place she could belonged to.

SATOMI RENTAROU is a...normal character. There is nothing much to talk about him. He is nice and caring and very strong because of his "metal"(or whatever that material is) arm and leg. He is also very brave and self-sacrificing. The moment I liked him the most is when he realized that he might have become a cold-blooded killer and became scared of that thought.

Animation

Impressive. That's the word that describes the animation of this anime show. The monsters are nicely designed, not too much, not boring but special. The animation shone the most in the action scenes and I found it very enjoyable to watch.

Conclusion

This is an action, Sci-Fi anime that is perfect for a lazy Sunday. Thirteen episodes are really enough to tell this kind of story. Funny moments made it even more amusing and the step-by-step developing story and a couple of little plot-twists fit in perfectly with the main plot. It is not one of the best anime I have watched so far but it is kinda cute and interesting so give it a try. I would rate it as a 7,67 soo...good enough.
