Can You Believe that These Anime Characters Have the Same Voice Actors?

Greetings Minna-san and welcome to another World of Anime Girl blog post. Today, I've got a really interesting topic for you that probably gives you the answer to the one question haunting us all while watching anime: "Where have I hard this voice before?". It was hard work and I needed a couple of days to prepare this post, but it is finally here. Today, I'll show you some Japanese voice actors along with some of their most famous roles and trust me, some of them are just unbelievable. Now, without further ado, let's get to it. Enjoy!

MIYANO MAMORU

This guy voiced so many different anime characters and he literary went from Shuu Tsukiyama to Kida Masaomi. Each character has some unique characteristics regarding the voice and the one that in my opinion stood out the most was Kida's voice. He has a really specific voice that was a bit annoying but still interesting and enjoyable.

AMAMIYA SORA

This woman too voiced some completely different characters regarding their personalities. With Aqua (KonoSuba) on one and Akame (Akame ga Kill) and Touka (Tokyo Ghoul) on the other side, Amamiya Sora nailed all of them.

KAMIYA HIROSHI

This one is just like Amamiya a really talented voice actor that manages to switch into completely different characters. Kamiya voiced our favorite god-Yato, our favorite captain-Levi and our probably favorite Durarara! character-"Iiiizaaaayaaaaaaaa!".

KANA HANAZAWA

I never thought that these four female anime characters actually had the same voice actress. I mean, Akane Tsunemori from Psycho Pass and Shiro from Deadman Wonderland, what a contrast, desu ne?

TAKAHIRO SAKURAI

I didn't pick much characters for this actor, but I guess these two are quite enough: my absolute favorite villain ever-Shougo Makishima from Psycho-Pass and the one and only Suzaku

FUMIKO ORIKASA

Fumiko Orikasa is an actress that took part in three of the most popular anime ever: Code Geass, Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood playing Shirley, Rukia and Riza.

NORIAKI SIGIMIYA

I don't have much to say about this guy, but seriously he actually played cool and bad-ass Sasuke and that idiot Emiya. I always hated stupid over-powered main characters like him

AOI YUUKI

The most interesting thing about these voice actors is the variety of their roles and this one is a perfect example. From kawaii evil characters like Krul Tepes (Owari no Seraph) and Tanya (Youjo Senki) to a complete idiot character like Yoshiko in the upcoming Summer 2017 anime Aho Girl.

KUGIMIYA RIE

I found it really hard to imagine someone giving Happy from Fairy Tail his/her voice, but the same voice actress also gave Suzuya from Tokyo Ghoul and Alphonse from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood her voice.

MIYUKI SAWASHIRO

I love the voice of this actress. Her voice has a very special and specific tone that got literary stuck in my mind. She played various roles in the anime world including Shiro (Sword Art Online), Shion (Psycho-Pass) and in the pictures below: Hakaze (Zetsuen no Tempest), Bishamonten (Noragami), Celty (Durarara!), Virgo and Ultear (Fairy Tail). Funny thing, she played two characters in the same anime and I actually never noticed, did you?

ROMI PARK

Have you noticed that female voice actors often play male roles, but male actors never play any female roles, or did I miss some? Nevertheless, this woman too played both male and female roles: Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), Temari Naruto), Hitsugaya (Bleach) and Ganta (Deadman Wonderland).  Also one fun fact, Romi Park playing Temari is married to Noriaki Sigimiya, the guy playing Sasuke,  in real life.

SAYAKA OHARA

This woman too showed great variety by playing both male and female roles. It was really surprising to see that Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail) and Lelouch (Code: Geass) actually had the same voice actress. In addition to that while playing Lelouch she also played Ashford Milly the Student Council president in Code: Geass. She also had one role in Fate/Zero, voicing Irisviel von Einzbern.

So, this would be it for today. I hope you liked this post just as I did writing it. It was really interesting to finally find out which characters actually have the same voice actors in the anime universe. Now, if you think that I missed some actors along with the interesting characters they played be sure to write them in the comments bellow. See you next time!

Answering Questions from MAL Forums Pt.4

Hello there,
I can't believe it's already the 4th Answering Questions post here on World of Anime Girl. I really love doing this posts because there are soo many interesting questions on those forums that I want to answer. For you who are the first time here, Answering Questions is a post I do once in while by browsing through My Anime List forums, picking some interesting questions and answering them here on my blog. Of course, I don't just want you to read my answers, I want to hear yours too, so be sure to write them in the comments bellow. Now, let us get to the questions:

1. Who is the most annoying anime character you have seen?

This one's pretty easy. The, without any doubt, most annoying character I have ever seen was the main character of AJIN, Kei Nagai. He is such a spoiled, evil bastard. I can't believe I actually finished the first season without dropping it. If I had a gun with two bullets and was in a room with Shiba Tatsuya (An Irregular at Magic High School), the evil Fairy King from Sword Art Online and Kei, I would definitely shoot Kei twice.

2. How long does it averagely take to write a review?

It depends on the moment. Sometimes, when I just feel like writing one I finish within one hour. On the other hand when I force my self to write one, it can take up to 3 hours. I really good review takes time and you need to wait for the right moment when you really feel like writing it. Otherwise you'll end up staring at your screen and not knowing how to even begin.

3. Do you have a genre you prefer?

Definitely! I've always loved action, adventure and magic/fantasy anime the most. They are thrilling, exciting and the settings are also usually really interesting. All my favorite anime involve either fantasy and magic or action. But of course I don't just watch that, I like to watch some shoujo or horror from time to time. The only genre I actually try to omit is sport.

4. Art, Music or Story: Which one is the most important for you?

I actually don't care that much about music, I hardly even notice background music. I also usually watch the opening and ending theme only once. If it is really good then I might watch or listen to it some more time, but rarely. The story is definitely the most important thing about an anime but I also pay much attention to the art and animation. The story might be amazing but if anime has bad animation I won't watch it. I do, but in very rare occasions.

5. Favorite anime quote?

"The beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning. Well then, let us begin again, and to each their own tale."
-Fuwa Aika (Zetsuen no Tempest)

6. Do you ship anime characters?

Ahm...who doesn't? I think we all ship one character with the other, sometimes even unconsciously. The last characters I wanted to end up together were Suwa and Naho from Orange. But my favorite ship are definitely Yona and Hak from Akatsuki no Yona. 😊

7. Which anime universe would you like to live in?

There are three anime universes I'd love to live in:
  1. Fairy Tail- There is magic, it's fun and there is always a happy ending
  2. Fate- I think I'd be born as a mage and I would love that despite the Holy Grail War
  3. Naruto- It's Naruto, who wouldn't want to do ninjutsu and be a ninja

8. Do you have any story ideas for anime?

Yes I do! I have that one anime idea in mind that actually has everything I love about anime. A bad-ass female character but not an overpowered MC, an intriguing story, action, magic and powers  and maybe a hint of romance. I actually though of drawing some scenes this summer. Who knows, I might need it one day (If only 😢).

So guys, this would be it for today's questions. As said in the beginning, I want you to give me your answers in the comments bellow. I am looking forward to reading them. See you next time,

Orange: ANIME REVIEW

You can't just take two anime and mix them somehow together to create a complete different one. I hope the makers of this anime kept that in mind because it looks to me like they put Clannad: Afterstory and Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride) into one anime and the result was one of the highlights of the Summer 2016 season-Orange.

STUDIO: Telecom Animation Film
GENRE: Sci-Fi, Drama, Romance, School, Shoujo
EPISODES: 13

PLOT & STORY LINE 📜

To explain what I wanted to say in the intro, this anime looks like the makers took the characters along with the Romance and School life from Ao Haru Ride, but the emotions and Sci-Fi element from Clannad. It is not as childish as Ao Haru Ride, it is has a more serious topic, but it doesn't give you an emotional breakdown like the one Afterstory gives. Picture it like this, if anime could evolve, Orange would be kinda in the middle of the evolution from Ao Haru Ride to Clannad. Still, Orange is a completely different story that happens to be emotional, thrilling and exciting at the same time. Let's see what it is all about.
On her first day of second year high school, our protagonist Naho receives a strange letter addressed to her.  The strange thing about it is that the letter is from herself-10 years in the future! Naho is of course skeptical at first, but after the letter describes events that really happen she realizes that the letter really is written by her 26-year-old-self.
The letter points out all the regrets that she'll make in the future and that she wants her younger self to fix those. Also one important part of the letter involves the new transfer student Kakeru. She must be especially careful when making decisions that involve him, as Kakeru is not a part of her future. Having the letter, Naho has now the power to protect Kakeru before she regrets it once more.

The story is set in the usual school setting but it still involves complex character personalities  and intriguing side stories. It actually pictures the true hardship of a high-school student whose mind is everything but just books and classes. Those teenage problems might seem small to the outside world, but in our small world things like a broken heart or a small regret about not listening to our parents can destroy us. Orange is an anime that pictures all that and the extend to witch it changes us and our future. It shows, how every single detail, no matter how small actually contributes to shaping our life.

In addition to that, the story of Orange is extremely exciting and always so unpredictable. You actually know one future, but the thing you're thinking about the whole time is how the happenings in the present will actually change it. Also, you get a cute romance, filled with everyday drama and emotional background story with, as I think, anyone can relate.
In short, Orange is an anime that pictures the true hardship of every high school student's life but without exaggerating. Its goal from the beginning is to convey one important message, which is: "You are never alone".

CHARACTERS 👦👩

I can't remember an anime that put more detail into characters than this one. Characters in other anime mostly have those superficial personalities, but the ones in Orange are detailed, original and extremely involving. Also, the anime makes it easy to actually display each personality so we really get to know them. My favorite character was definitely Suwa. He is an extremely caring and down-to-earth guy (even though he is extremely popular) who is always putting someone else before him self. He is nice, sweet and also extremely funny. The male lead, Kakeru, has the most complex personality of all which is mainly the result of the events that take place in the anime. Naho, is somehow like Suwa, extremely caring but much more emotional. On the whole, the makers of the anime put a lot of effort in creating good characters for the show and you can clearly see that.

ANIMATION & STYLE 💻

I just love everything about this anime including the character design. Some of them like Naho, Kakeru and Chino do look like characters from Ao Haru Ride, especially Naho that looks exactly like Futaba and Kakeru looking like Kou. About the animation, it was breathtaking, especially some backgrounds and scenarios like the one after which Orange got its name. It is amazing how the whole anime actually connects to that one beautiful moment bringing together both, the past and the present.

CONCLUSION 📌

Orange is an extremely emotional and exciting anime that follows a really interesting story about friends and life. The anime conveys a simple yet extremely important message in a way that no other anime could. Through beautiful animation and characters that everyone can relate to, it makes you ride an emotional roller-coaster and make you feel like you're also part of their story. Once more, the anime is exciting, interesting, funny, moving and above all beautiful. A true masterpiece in all its aspects that definitely deserves to be part of your list on MAL.

SUMMER 2017 Anime Preview

I'll say this right off the bat, I don't think that this season's gonna be a really good one. I've always been a fan of summer seasons because the best anime usually air at this time but this one's really bad. Just when I look back at the Summer 2016 season with Mob Psycho 100, Tales of Zestiria the X, Re:LIFE, Orange, 91 Days etc. These were all amazing anime and there were many other also worth watching. Now, I hardly picked 5 worth mentioning. I am interested in three of them, but I all probably give the other two also a shot. Now let's see what the new season has to offer. Enjoy!

No.1 FATE APOCRYPHA

RELEASE DATE: July 2, 2017
GENRE: action, supernatural, drama, magic, fantasy
STUDIOS: A-1 Pictures
LINKS: MY ANIME LIST | PV TRAILER
And here it is. One more anime from the Fate series. The makers of Fate really know how to make money with it. Despite that, I am sure that Apocypha's gonna be the highlight of the season. Question is, will it be good or a disappointment like Grand Order: First Order? For now, I have never been disappointed by a Fate show, so I'll definitely watch it. Besides, magic, amazing fights and interesting settings are things that Fate always does right.

When it comes to the plot, it is set in a parallel world to Fate/ Stay Night where the Grail suddenly disappears. Now the thing that got me hyped  about this anime is that we don't have that usual Holy Grail War fight but a war with two Factions each having seven servants fighting for them. The Black Faction is fighting to protect the Grail after its members form the Yggdimillennia family retrieved it. On the other side you have the Red Faction sent by the Mage's Association who are trying to take the Holy Grail back. Sounds promising, thrilling and really entertaining. I'll be watching, will you?

N0.2 KATSUGEKI /TOUKEN RANBOU

RELEASE DATE: July 2, 2017
GENRE: action, fantasy
STUDIOS: ufotable
LINKS: MY ANIME LIST PV TRAILER
Of course I'll be watching an anime produced by my favorite anime studio. The PV teaser trailer looks really good and I can already see an amazing animation. I just can't wait to watch another ufotable peace of art.
The anime is set in 1863, a time in which the samurai era is coming to an end and Japan is split between the pro- and anti-shogunate faction. But the fate of the world is about to be changed as an army of historical revisionists from the future arrive who want to change the course of history. In order to protect the real history, two spirit sword warriors are summoned and rush into the battle alongside their companions.
As I read from the description on MAL, I think there's also gonna be a pinch of comedy because of the two main characters having completely different personalities. I am really looking forward to watching this anime, I just don't know if I'll be watching episode by episode each week or watch it all in one go after all the episodes come out.

No.3 JIKAN NO SHIHAISHA

RELEASE DATE: July 8, 2017
GENRE: supernatural, shounen
STUDIOS: Project No.9
I especially like the cover of this anime. The characters look really good and as I can see from the PV trailer, the  on a manga based anime will provide some really good action. Supernatural demons, powers and fights, I am opetimistic about this one. In short the anime follows "Chronos Rulers", individuals that fight the time-eating demons that appear every time someone wishes to turn back the time. The concept alone sounds really interesting, and even though I haven't seen any Project No.9 anime, I think that their animation might be as good as ufotable's. I hope they will include some mind confusing time travels but until then I'll definitely have this one on my watch list.

No.4 SHOUKOKU NO ALTAIR

RELEASE DATE: July 8, 2017
GENRE: adventure, historical, drama, fantasy,  shounen
STUDIOS: MAPPA
LINKS: MY ANIME LIST | PV TRAILER
An anime about the Ottoman Empire, that's new. The story follows the young pasha Mahmut who serves in the Divan of Turkiye Stratocracy. Living in a country that is about to face war because of the threat of a aggressive empire, Mahmut begins his quest to maintain peace at any cost. But will the young pasha be able to stop what is inevitable? I have mixed feelings about this anime. I am kinda interested in all the Ottoman Empire setting because it was an important part of my country's history too. On the other hand, I am not sure about the story, but I will definitely give it a try.

No.5 AHO GIRL

RELEASE DATE: July 4, 2017
GENRE: comedy, romance, school
STUDIOS: MAPPA
LINKS: MY ANIME LIST | PV TRAILER
And finally something from the comedy genre. I am usually not a fan of comedy anime, because I don't think they are...well, funny. But after watching KonoSuba I decided to give more comedy anime a try, and come on, what could go wrong with Aho Girl. The story follows Yoshiko, a genuinely stupid girl that even manages to get 0's on multiple choice tests. Always by her side, her childhood friend that she actually likes, and who has to put up with her ridiculous behavior. I really don't expect anything from the story, nor the characters. I just hope for it to make me laugh really, really hard.

FAIRY TAIL 540: Manga Discussion

I think I am slowly entering a void of emotions with every week that passes because Fairy Tail is ending. You open the first page of chapter 540 and read that there are only 6 chapters left until the finale. SIX MORE CHAPTERS! Now before the last battle starts I thought why not discuss what's happened up until now.

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

Natsu finally did it. He defeated Zeref Dragneel, the dark and most evil mage that ever lived. I cannot express the thrill and epicness of the few chapters that covered the battle between them. The very end of the fight (chapter 537) was with great extend one of the most emotional Fairy Tail moments I watched/read. The one thing that Zeref always wanted, but not knowingly also always had was love. Mavis' love marked his as well as her own end:
"A barefoot girl, and a jet-black boy, were playing ever so joyfull."
On the other side of the battlefield we have Erza, Jellal, Anna, the Blue Pegasus crew and others fighting the Dragon King Acnologia. After their unsuccessful attempt to capture Acnologia in the Ravines of time, their plan backfires with Acnologia actually devouring time itself:
"And as such I shall surpass time and space itself, destroy the world and within this world of spacetime exterminate you all... The last dragons."
Chapter 540 starts off with Acnologia and Natsu captured in, as Anna later explains, the Ravines of time. But not only did he just capture Natsu, all the other Dragon Slayers are there too and they all have solely one purpose. In order to bring "harmony" to his powers that are dwelling trough the Ravines of time, Acnologia needs the power of the dragons.
Being split from its soul, Acnologia's physical body is now under no control and so spreading destruction all over the world. As Erza, Anna, Jellal and the others realize that Acnologia's body is heading towards Magnolia they head straight to it with the help of Mest's teleportation powers. Finally in Magnolia, they explain the situation to the others.

As the their comrades in Magnolia put all their hopes and trusts into them, the dragon slayers declare Acnologia a fight, believing in their magic and the power of belief of their friends. The last battle starts. The fight between the seven Dragon Slayers, Natsu, Wendy, Laxus, Sting, Rogue, Gajeel and Erik and the Dragon King, Acnologia.

Chain Chronicle: Haecceitas no Hikari: ANIME REVIEW

Greetings Minna-san,
It is finally summer and Anime Girl is back. I haven't really had time to write as much as I wanted to because of university, but it is summer break now and that means three months of anime, anime and just anime. I started right away with catching up all the anime I missed this year starting with the Winter 2017 season. I did watch some of them like Youjo Senki, KonoSuba 2 and Tales of Zestiria the X 2 and now it's time to write a review on the one I finished yesterday.
I am still searching for an action fantasy anime that will literary blow my mind with its awesomeness, and believe it or not, this anime had potential to do so. But man, they really screwed up the anime at some points and made it a little less enjoyable than I expected. Give it up for the first review of this summer: Chain Chronicles: The Light of Haecceitas.

PLOT & STORY LINE 📜

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first and probably the major issue that this show has is that the first episode looks like a mid-seasonal highlight. You play the episode and out of nowhere you have the protagonist fighting alongside his companions against the main villain of the show. He wants some sacred book, the world is becoming dark, some fairy (that seems very important) suddenly disappears and you're just watching and thinking...wait what? I had the feeling that I missed out on something and I did. It has a prequel from 2014. But that 1h long Short Animation didn't give me any insight to to story. Now that is some plot hole, don't you think? It is like half of the season is missing. But what is it now about?

The story starts off, as I said, with our main characters of the Volunteer Army fighting the Dark King and loosing. As mentioned, some little fairy disappears and a very important book called the Chronicle is split into two. The Chronicle is said to hold the entire history of the world and if it were to be stained black, the whole world would too fall into darkness. One half is now in possession of the Dark King and after the battle ends in a big loss for the Volunteer Army, they were forced to retreat. Yet their hope did not disappear entirely and so they set off on another journey to find Pirika (the lost fairy) and gather more allies for their upcoming fight with the Dark King.
Even though the anime has a really messed up story line, it still got a 8/10 from me in the MAL rating, and here's all why:
1. The fantasy-magic setting of Chain Chronicle is one of the best I have ever seen. I know I have seen such setting in a lot anime, but this one special in some way. First of all the powers are based on both magic and mana-powered swordsmanship that just looks so amazing in the fight sequences. The world it self is extremely interesting seeing all the different regions from desserts to forests. I just hoped they had put more effort in the details of each of the seven regions and their rulers. The setting was fantastic and the anime was magical. I loved the fights and enjoyed every battle each of which was epic and thrilling at the same time.
2. The cliche hero-friendship bond story was not boring and irritating as it happens to be in most other anime. The core and in some way the moral of the anime was that friendship bonds are stronger than any dark power that exists and that each hero, no matter how strong he is, cannot overcome evil all by him self. And despite the fact that every episode had at least one scene where they wanted to point that out it didn't annoy me. It was the way the anime conveyed the message that made it enjoyable and really emotional. Many fight scenes but also these 'emotional speeches about friendship and loyalty' gave me enormous chills and I enjoyed every single second of it.

3.The story is not centered about one character alone. I think that this is definitely the best thing about Chain Chronicles. Even though we know right from the start who the main characters are, the anime still manages to put every character in the spotlight for some time. And what's also good, you don't get an annoying over powered main protagonist with powers served on a silver plate. Through the anime you see the hardship and difficulties that each character is facing and overcoming so in the end you forget that the anime actually started from something you might call a highlight because you get the feeling that you've been with the characters from the very beginning.
To conclude the talk about the plot and story line, 24 episodes for this anime might have made it a real masterpiece but nevertheless it is extremely enjoying and entertaining just as it is. And now more about the characters:

CHARACTERS  👦👩

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just as I mentioned before, all the characters in Chain Chronicles took part in the story. From the main characters Yuri, Phoena and Aram to some side(main) characters like princess Juliana, Burckhardt and other, each of them had its own side story and they were really good. Most of them were really emotional due to the bonds they shared for each other. The two main male protagonists Yuri and Aram both share a pure and kind personality and willpower. Where they differ? Well, Yuri is a down-to-earth and calm individual that tries to omit conflict at any cost. Aram, being just a boy has a really short temper and gets easily in trouble.

When it comes to the female lead Phoena, I must say that I didn't like her in the beginning. I thought she would be just a useless side-kick like Sakura but she actually went through an amazing character development being the keeper of the Chronicle. My favorite character was definitely princess Juliana. She was such a lovely yet though and extremely capable leader that showed strength in moments when she was needed by both her friends and her people. Also one of the most amazing moments was when she fought...SPOILER..in the and. You can see a part of the fight in the GIF on the right.

ANIMATION AND STYLE 💻

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I still have no idea what to talk about in this section. As every animation nowadays it is extremely good. Still the thing that not every anime has is detail. The backgrounds of Chain Chronicle are amazing and as mentioned before the fight scenes are incredible. As for the style, I gotta say that I loved the character design. I know it wasn't that special but it was also not ordinary. And one more thing that is definitely worth mentioning was the opening. The theme song "My Liberation" and the video were really catchy and the proof for that is the fact that I actually did not skip it in every episode.

CONCLUSION 📌

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really don't understand anime makers form time to time. Were you really that lazy to make additional 12 episodes? It would have made the anime so much better if it actually had a beginning and a proper introduction to the story. Still, awesome characters, a really interesting setting and amazing animation made the anime really enjoyable, entertaining and worth your time. And so I still didn't find my fantasy masterpiece, but until then I entertain my self it other good anime, and Chain Chronicles is definitely one of them.
