Owari no Seraph/ Seraph of the End: ANIME REVIEW

Well hello my dear anime fellows,

This is Anime Girl with another review on an anime I finished just a couple of days ago. You know, I've never been a huge fan of vampires. It became such a mainstream story and I hate mainstream. Yet, I made my self to watch this vampire anime. I did it because it is not that usual 'stab the vampire with a dagger in the heart to kill it' story, but more...anime like. In the end, I really liked it. Give it up for the review on Owari no Seraph.

 Plot and Story Line 

Owari no Seraph is an action, supernatural and drama anime that aired in 2015. It has two seasons: Owari no Seraph and Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen. The MAL community rated it as a 7,66 which is in my opinion just the right rating for this anime. When it comes to the plot of Owari no Seraph, it is set in a post-apocalyptic  world in which a virus kills all those above 13. In such a world, Yuuichirou and Mikaela, two boys from the Hyakuya orphanage, became livestock for the vampires that suddenly emerged. In order to survive and be protected the boys along with all the other children that survived give their blood to the vampires. Having enough of the vampires' cruel reign, Mikaela comes up with an escape plan that was doomed to fail. Only Yuuichirou manages to escape while the others were killed. He is later rescued by the Moon Demon Company, a military unit that exterminates the vampires in Japan. A couple of years later, Yiiichirou becomes a member of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army eager to take revenge on the creatures that murdered his family. 

The story of Owari no Seraph is, as I mentioned in the beginning, different. The vampires in this story are cool, they have amazing powers and weapons and they are not that Twilight -type vampires. More importantly, the way the vampires are being fought are not conventional and medieval. Instead of using garlic, silver, holy water etc. the Imperial Demon Army uses demon possessed weapons to kill them. You have all kinds of weapons and demons and that's the thing I liked most about Owari no Seraph. And of course with great powers and weapons comes great action. The fights and action in Owari no Seraph is amazing. Made me even watch a couple of fights again. 

Still, the action is not in the center of the story. The axis of Owari no Seraph is Yuu's fight between the will to revenge his family and the inner demon. Hist steady talk about how important family and friends are and how he disobeys orders just to save his comrades becomes a bit boring over the time, but that's what drives him forward. He fights, he wants to become stronger and so he does. 

One thing that disappointed me in Owari no Seraph is when Guren (General of the Moon Demon Company) finds Yuu after his escape, he says :"Good, he's here. Just like the prophecy said. One of the test subjects from the Hyakuya Laboratories appeared". What prophecy? I was so excited about that legend-prophecy stuff that I thought would come, but it didn't. They never mentioned that again. I don't know if the third season will tell us something about it more but for now, it leaves us in the dark.

By the way, Owari no Seraph has that "I knew it" plot-twist right in the beginning. It makes the whole story really dramatic from the beginning to the end. Surprisingly you have one more plot-twist in the end, but it's more a "What on Earth" kind of plot-twist. That one reveals the secret about the Seraph of the end. Just so you know a Seraph is a type of celestial or heavenly being in Christianity and Judaism. I know what you think, what does such a being have to do with vampires but you shall see...Angels would know *wink*

Characters

This is one of those anime in which my favorite character becomes the evil queen. The queen of the vampires, Krul Tepes, is such an awesome character. She is that cool and thug girl or young woman, I can't really tell. She is a vampire that is more than 200 years old. And even though she is so strong and amazing, she still has a pinch of good inside of her. I loved her.Our main character Yuuichirou reminds me of Naruto in a lot of ways. The "I will become strong to save my friends and I can do everything" attitude is what makes him stand out. He does complicate things a lot because of that but okay...Every anime needs one. Also very awesome characters are Guren and Shinoa. I loved them both. The thing about the characters in Owari no Seraph is that they all kinda fight that inner battle with their self. They all have a sad background story they need to overcome and in that way we get to know every character one by one. Guren's story is one of my favorites even tough it's basically a love story. Also, it is maybe one of the most important stories because it affects the end of the anime a lot.

Animation and Style

I'll make this one very, very short. The animation is amazing. Awesome. The style has something other anime don't. It took me some time to think about it, but I got it now. In some scenes you can see that the black outline is a bit sloppy. I really look into details too much, don't I?

Conclusion

Go watch Owari no Seraph now. It doesn't matter if you like vampires or not, you'll like it because this story is on a completely new level. It is interesting, intriguing, dramatic and full of action. So enjoy!

Answering Questions from MAL Forums Pt.2.

Installing these MMO games is so annoying. I mean why does it always take so long? Right now I am installing Tera and while doing that I thought what I could do in the meantime. I firstly thought about writing a new review but I am too tired to do that.

 So I came up with this. Not exactly a new topic, but new questions. My Anime List forums are full of interesting and funny questions that just wait to be answered. This time, again, I picked 5 questions I came across and here are the answers. Anime Girl answering questions from MAL forums, again. 

1.How do you decide whether you will watch a particular anime or not?

This is a really good question. Let's see how I do it?

Well there are a couple of things I consider before I decide. Definitely the first thing is My Anime List. I check some things like score, ranking, who the producers are, genre too etc. Also very important, I read the summary. 

Next thing I do-You Tube. But I do not watch trailers, because they usually don't have subtitles. I watch AMVs. They are awesome and they don't contain spoilers. At least I didn't come across a spoiler. 

Do not read a lot of reviews. Funny thing for me to say because I write them my self, but my reviews are more objective. Most of the reviews I read on MAL have a too personal opinion about everything, so do not get distracted by that. Maybe you like something that the reviewer doesn't and vice versa.

In the end, talk with someone that has the same taste as you do. 

2.How do people complete a bad anime?

I seriously do not know how others do it, but I am a blogger. I write reviews about anime, even if it's a bad one. And sometimes you just want to finish it so that you can finally write something bad. I am a mean blogger, I know. JK, I'm nice. 

Still, I couldn't wait to finish watching Ajin so I could let all that 'anger' because of all that Tokyo Ghoul 'coincidences' out. Or "An Irregular at Magic High School" it was so boring and I couldn't wait to write that down on my blog. That's the way I deal with bad anime. I write a critique about it.

3.Reasons why you drop anime?

I don't want to say that there are a lot anime I've dropped. But here are some I remember  did.

I can't really tell the reason I dropped these anime. It was just a feeling. Not a feeling that they are gonna be bad anime, but more the feeling that I am not gonna like them. Besides, if an anime doesn't catch me in the first 2-3 episodes it's over. 

4.Do we need an anime version of the Oscars?

My answers is totally YES, we need anime Oscars! But I would call them...The Harutos, or the Yamaos...I don't know something like that. And the Yamato for the best anime goes to...

Now that would sound so cool, desu ne?

5.If you found a Death Note in real life, what would you do with it?

This is such a good question. As  expected I read all kinds of answers on MAL, but what would AnimeGirl do? Well, I think using the Death Note is like the death penalty. And since I am a huge opponent of the death penalty I wouldn't use the Death Note either. No one has the right to take someone's life because you weren't the one that gave it in fist place.  But if I found it in real life, I would use it, like I use other notebooks. Math, essays and if it doesn't have lines in it I would draw on it.

One thing is for sure, even tough it's an anime, I'd never dare to write someones name in it. Just in case.

Schwarzesmarken: ANIME REVIEW

Yo Minna!

Why not recall what happened to Germany after WWII? Germany was split into the "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" (west) and the DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik-East Germany) and they kinda hated each other but it was more a reaction due to the Cold War. So you probably ask why is this related to an anime review? Well, the setting of this anime is an alternative version of East Germany in the 1980s. I was wondering if there was an anime that has that "after WWII" setting and this anime was close to it. The title was supposed to be in German with the meaning "Black Marks", but it ended up being a grammar flop in my opinion. What should be "Schwarze Marken" became "Schwarzesmarken" in the end and here is the review to it.

Plot and Story Line

As said in the intro, the plot of Schwarzesmarken tkes place in an alternative version of East Germany in the 1980s. West Germany is also there and as our history books, the anime too, shows the hatred between the two sides. Of course history alone would be too boring in an anime, so the makers of Schwarzesmrken added up a little drama, a little bit of Sci-Fi and some Mecha-military action. Out came an anime that has a solid and interesting plot with a couple of good background stories and full of action, drama and intrigue. But what is this anime actually about?
Well, in such a divided Germany, a new species of extraterrestrial origin called BETA are doing everything just to destroy the world. They are really ugly and creepy monsters that come in all forms and sizes. The story of Schwarzesmarken follows the East Germany Army's  666th TSF Squadron, also known as the "Black Marks". With Mecha suits that we've unfortunately seen so many times and the most advanced technology, they fight the BETA in order to free the planet of those extremely dangerous creatures. 
The all BETA story is actually just the foundation of the anime. The highlight of the story is actually a set of circumstances that involve our main characters Theodor Eberbach, Irisdina Bernhard, Katia Waldheim and Lise Hohenstein into the political tensions between the two Germanies. 
When I firstly started watching Schwarzesmarken I thought that this is gonna end up as one more "kill the ugly creatures that want to destroy human kind" anime, but it did not. Because in all that awesome action fights with the BETA comes that intriguing political tension drama between the the East and the West. Not being enough to all that politics comes up another mystery side story about Katia, who she really is and where she actually comes from.  And after some episodes Theodor's past catches up and just adds up with all the drama from before. Trust me guys, the show becomes something like an anime soap opera, but a very good one to be honest. That's exactly what makes the anime so good. You have all that military action and in the middle of it some drama between our main protagonist. Of course, romance too. In that way, Schwarzesmarken has something for everyone's soul. 
The thing that I liked the most about Schwarzesmarken is definitely the link to the past and the situation in the Cold War. I always wanted to watch an anime based on the happenings after WWII and that's why I decided to watch this one. True the BETA stuff wasn't a thing I was expecting, but it ended up being a good anime. You really get the feeling of all the hatred and the tensions between the East and West. 
The story of Schwarzesmarken is a little bit complex, but so intriguing and amazing that you won't regret watching it. Of course, action overload and amazing mecha fights. And all that fits perfectly into 12 episodes which is also the reason this anime got an "Honorable mention" in "My Top 5 Anime You Can Watch in Less Than 6h". 

Characters

This is another good part of Schwarzesmarken-the characters. They are all realistic personalities and very interesting too.

 My personal favorite was the leader of the 666th Squadron, Irisdina Bernhard. She is a tough leader and a very independent young woman. She has to bear much pressure on her shoulders being the hero of the nation. Also there is no doubt that her exemplary leadership and tactical skill are the key for the survival and ongoing success of her team.

Also very important in the Schwarzesmarken story is our little Katia Waldheim. She is extremely idealistic, hardworking and adored by the maintenance crew. She was a former member of the West Army but after being rescued by the 666th Sq. she soon transfers and becomes a part of Irisdina's team. She has a natural talent and good instinct when it comes to piloting the TSF. She does seem like that overly perfect character that annoys you from time to time, but she is not. Besides, her background story becomes the most intriguing part of the anime so...

Animation and Style

The Animation of Schwarzesmarken is okay. It is definitely not bad, but not a masterpiece either. I think the colors could have been a little bit brighter, they are too dull in my opinion. And since everything is most of the time covered in snow, you don't get to enjoy beautiful backgrounds and stuff. The style is aso not special but again, also not bad. It is an ordinary anime style with no special extras. The one thing that the makers could have changed is the style of the robots, the TSF. Giving them a different name doesn't make the more special than the ones in Code Geass, Giulty Crown etc. I was disappointed, considering the fact that Germany is the leader in the mechanic industry. They could have come up with something new. 

Conclusion

On the whole, Schwarzesmarken is a very good anime with a lot of action first of all. The fights and the battle tactics are amazing and very interesting. Linking to the past events in German history, Schwarzesmarken chooses the perfect setting for a political drama like the one we have here. Still there are so many more amazing things that are coming which I can't tell because they would be huge spoilers. I recommend, watch Schwarzesmarken and enjoy!

Ajin: ANIME REVIEW

Yo Minna, what's up?!

The anime in this review is quite interesting. You firstly have the main character, a black-haired little boy who is some kind of study nerd that suddenly becomes a half-human, half-demon like creature. Then there is his best friend (or ex-best friend, whatever). A blond guy that does not care about school that much. And then there is a old, white-haired man with always closed eyes (you that , when they draw eyes like a thick line in anime) that wants to help him, when the government wants to catch him. Oh, and not any branch, a special unit of the government made just to catch those "monsters".

No guys, this won't be a Tokyo Ghoul review, I already did that one. It is the first review on a 2016-anime, AJIN. Let the critics begin.

PLOT AND STORY LINE

You know how everyone sees Guilty Crown as a Code Geass rip-off. Well, Ajin is even worse. It took so many obvious segments of Tokyo Ghoul, you can't even believe that they actually did that. Guilty Crown has at least a good story whereas Ajin, has again something similar to Tokyo Ghoul. A little nerd boy suddenly becomes a half-monster. I think we already saw that one. 

The story begins some 19 years before in Africa, where a new species's been discovered called Ajin. Ajin are immortal beings with a couple of supernatural abilities that still look like ordinary humans. There have been a couple of Ajin reported worldwide. Still they don't seem so real for most of the citizens because they only see them sometimes in the news or read about them in textbooks. Nagai, Kei was one of those citizens until a certain accident turned his life upside-down. On his way back home, he got into a traffic accident. A truck hit him, but when everyone expected him to be dead, Kei just stood up again. Everyone was certain that he was an Ajin. 

Now, when it comes to the story of this anime, it is an action loaded mystery, horror and supernatural story that really only follows our main protagonist. No side stories, no background stories, only the present and Kei. 
This would probably be the part of a review where I say stuff like this story is really interesting, or the plot it self is really catchy, but...I won't. The story is okay. And that's it. It is just okay. In the first four episodes it was because of all the Tokyo Ghoul similarities, but even though it changed afterwards, it was still...I don't want to say it was boring, because it wasn't. It just didn't give you the feeling of enjoyment. I did not enjoy it, but maybe you will. So once again, the story is okay. It is not boring, it is watchable, but it is also not something that will make you watch it in one day, even tough it has only 13 episodes. 
The second season has also been announced and it will start airing in October, 2016. And at this very point I want to say, I probably won't give it a try. I think I'll want to read somewhere what happened in the end, but I certainly won't watch it. I just think it's worth my time. So...yeah. That's it about the plot and story line.

CHARACTERS

The characters are surely more interesting than the plot. The funny thing about this anime's characters is that the "negative characters" are in the limelight. Negative characters like Kei, Satou, Tosaki are the leading characters of the anime while the "good guys" like Izumi, Kaito and Eriko are in the background. My favorite character was Kei's friend Kaito. Although we didn't get to see much of him, I liked him. He's cool. But I guess I should say a few words about our main character:

NAGAI KEI is one of those characters you hate in anime. He looks so cute and innocent but is just an self-centered crybaby. He is always thinking about his self. I mean, even his little sister hates him. He forgot about his best friend who again came to help him when Kei was in trouble. He is using everyone and even pretends to like them or be helpful just to gain their trust. He is the first character I really wish to see dead. Which is after all possible considering the fact that he has the government and the other ajin against him. 

ANIMATION AND STYLE

Two words describe this anime's animation and style: Nice try! It's obvious that the makers of Ajin tried something new, something fresh. But when the anime ends up looking like a bad video game...That's not good. The movements are slow and there is no detail. Moreover, the colors in the anime are too dull. I know it's a horror anime, but seriously, how about a bit brightness? 

CONCLUSION

To conclude, you might like Ajin, because it is not a boring story and there are some quite interesting segments. The action in the anime is awesome and that's the only good thing I remember about it. I didn't like it that much and I certainly won't watch the second season. It is still freaking me out how many similarities it has with Tokyo Ghoul, because I am a huge fan of it. In my personal opinion Ajin deserves a 7/10, but there is a possibility that you might like it.

The Case of Hana & Alice

When the camera moves it’s always good to have a reason behind it whether it’s practical or narrative driven. Camera movement with perspective changes is even more dynamic in traditional animation since it’s a lot rarer. This rarity makes the camera move a powerful visual storytelling tool and The Case of Hana & Alice made use of it to a great effect.

The Case of Hana & Alice is a story about two teenage girls dealing with significant changes in their lives. The movie conveyed these changes through camera movement and perspective changes. Horizontal tracking shots were utilized as a visual metaphor for the pivotal transitions in the story and the characters’ development. The rare perspective changes in these shots aided in giving more emphasis to the visual metaphor.

The first horizontal tracking shot of the movie is Alice and her mother walking to her new school. Transferring to another school comes with the challenges of getting to know new people, getting accustomed with a new environment and dealing with bullies. It’s a big change in life and the tracking shot helped visually demonstrate it.

The perspective changes in this shot are also quite subtle. It’s really only noticeable in the shadows and stains on the ground. These small changes can represent how little we know about the characters but as the viewers get to know them more the perspective changes become more drastic.

There’s also parallax scrolling in these shots but it’s merely an illusion of depth with no actual changes in perspective lines.

Prior to the shot above Alice’s father was encouraging her to join the relay team. The tracking shot is more than just a sign of her joining the relay team; it’s an emphasis on the major changes it will bring. Not only being in the relay team helped her fit in with her classmates but it also lead to knowing more about Hana and eventually meeting her.

The tracking shot beginning with a walk and ending with a run can also be interpreted as an escalation in the story and character development. After this shot the story became much more adventurous, emotional and personal.

The tracking shot above marks the beginning of a close friendship. Alice has become comfortable enough with Hana to hug her and ask a personal question about why she has become isolated. Shortly after this scene Hana shares her deeply personal and emotional reasons on why she ended up as a shut-in.

There were a few more tracking shots like these in the movie but these three were the most effective in demonstrating its use as a visual metaphor for change.

My Top 5 Favorite Hero vs. Villain Duos

Hello Minna,

It's me, Anime Girl. I hope you're all doing fine. 

Before writing a new anime review I thought about posting another "My Top 5" and here it is now. It took a while to decide the topic of this post but while browsing trough some forums I came across an interesting question regarding Akatsuki no Yona.  It made me thing about it and I suddenly got the idea for this post. So, here for you, MY TOP 5 FAVORITE HERO VS. VILLAIN DUOS

5.Van Hohenheim vs. "Father" (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood)

I am sure that all of you know this duo. Not only did the anime Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood give us an amazing story, but it also gave us the perfect Hero vs. Villain duo. The father of our protagonists Ed and Al and the father of the homonuculi. Why I put them in my top5? Well obviously because of their story  but since I don't want to spoil sth. I wont talk much about it. Still the thing that makes these two so interesting are their looks which is again a result of the story it self (It's really hard to talk about stuff when you don't want to spoil anything). Once servant and master, then friends and in the end sworn enemies that wish to destroy each other. Amazing due, desu ne?

4. Yato vs. Bishamonten (Noragami & Noragami Aragoto)

What looks like a hilarious cartoon story is actually a deep story between two enemies, where neither one nor the other is the actual villain, but they are still have the kind enemy vs. enemy relationship. It's a fight between Gods that couldn't be more different in personality. The happy-go-lucky on one side, where on the other side you have the overly protective and serious Bishamonten. The story of the two Gods is made up of the present and the background story which made all of this happen. And even tough Noragami is more like a comedy, the Yato vs. Bishamonten story is kinda serious and very deep, making it extremely interesting to watch. It was also the reason I liked the second season more than the first one and the reason that this duo, made it on the fourth place.

3. L vs. Kira (Death Note)

I think a lot of you will hate me for not putting these two on place 1, but I didn't. I am sorry. However, they remain one of the most amazing duos ever. The reason for that is definitely the fact that you hate and love both at the same time. While watching death Note you cannot decide which one of these is the hero and who is the villain. Kira or Light is the "hero" as protagonist but the actual hero that is trying to save everyone is L. And then again you thing for a moment that Kira is doing something good, but... death Note really makes you think about humanity. I actually see the Death Note notebook as the death penalty in real life, and to be honest, no one should have the right to take away someone's life. And neither does Kira. So after a while I reached my conclusion: Hero=L and Villain=Kira.

2. Yona vs. Su-Won (Akatsuki no Yona)

I think I have this anime in every My Top 5 which is not a surprise considering the fact that it is my favorite anime (that still hasn't a second season). The reason these two are on place two is that they actually love each other but are sworn enemies. It's a love-hate relationship which is the reason that made them such an awesome hero vs. villain duo. She loves him but she must hate him and so fights with her inner self all the time. He on the other hand, never meant this to happen, but it did. And he only loves her. Pure drama! And exactly that drama around their relationship makes this duo unique and interesting, whereas their story is a universe it self. 

1.Shinya Kougami vs. Shougo Makishima (Psycho-Pass)

One of the things that made this duo No.1. is the fact that their relationship carried the anime's story. So it wasn't their story that was important but the way they dealt with each other. Two masterminds I've hardly seen somewhere else. Second thing is that they are the perfect image of how a hero and villain should be. Shougo Makishima is the type of character you really get afraid of and start crying the moment you see him. Just like I used to cry as a lil' girl when seeing Bernd the Bread. Man I still hate him. On the other side, you have Shinya kougami who is the hero that no one else understands. The one that saves everyone even though they're all against him. And exactly those things made this duo my N0.1.

Shinya Kougami and shougo Makishima are my No.1. Hero vs.Villain Duo!

God Eater: ANIME REVIEW

You all probably know the feeling when you need to wait for season two of an anime to see how it ends. Awful right? But do you know what's worse than that? It is when you watch an 13-episode-long anime but they take an 5-month-long pause after the 9th episode. While waiting for the 10th episode of this anime I totally forgot about it and finished it just yesterday. And now here is the review for GOD EATER! 

Plot and Story Line

First thing's first, the anime God Eater is actually an adaptation on the same-named game God Eater. Produced by Bandai Visuals, God Eater is an action, adventure, military and supernatural anime with a rating of 7,56. 

As I said in the beginning, the worst thing about this anime were the frequent delays, especially the one after the 9th episode. Now that the anime is finished and the story nearly complete, let´s discuss it.

So, the story of God Eater takes place in post-apocalyptic Japan in the year 2071. The world was nearly destroyed due to monster-like creatures called Aragami. A special organization with the name Fenrir was created to exterminated the Aragami with weapons called God Arcs that are made of Aragami cells. Since the introduction of a new God Arc type, that can change its form, new God Eaters (Aragami exterminators) are introduced and so is our protagonist Utsugi Lenka. The story follows him and his friends in various missions and battles but also a couple of background stories that follow the main characters.

When it comes to the story, it is actually a well-known scenario. Huge, monster-like creatures attack human kind and they need to fight back. Even tough there are so many anime with one and the same topic,  they all kinda develop their own story in between. Thing is, God Eater is an anime that's trying to tech us what humanity really is. It concentrates on some basic rules of society such as "The strong ones survive" and how we sometimes need to obey the stronger ones in order to survive. One thing that is quite often the topic is 'how to chose between two'. It is something we encounter many times in life and the anime surely shows us how to chose. Other, more additional "stories" that would make up the main story in other anime are pushed into the background. Funny is, most of those stores are actually background stories and flashbacks of the past. But they are actually quite good. 

When it comes to our protagonist, Lenka, I would say that his life story is the main story line. Pushed by all the things that happened in the past Lenka fights and craves strength to protect others. That is exactly what drives the whole anime. True that it is also a thing that we´ve seen before (motivational talks, all round Naruto-like optimism) it still catches you kinda emotionally and it doesn't get boring.

In addition to a good story, what made this anime watchable is the action. The action scenes were truly amazing and awesome. Not to talk about the fact that they you have a fight every here and there. I loved it.

On the whole, no plot holes, the story is intriguing and catchy and the background stories are just as interesting as the present story line. Again, it is not just an anime about fighting monsters but it also concentrates on stuff like humanity and society. One more thing: with the last, 13th episode, the anime actually reached its peak, meaning, the story is not over. There is more to it but unfortunately, a second season hasn't been announced yet.

Characters

The characters of this anime are...good. Nothing special in particular but I like them. They are all special and to each comes a different story.  You have a couple of leaders, an emotionally unstable but very talented girl, the "Ron Weasley" kind of friend, a typical villain etc. I'd like to talk about at least these two so if you get bored just skip that and move on to the animation and style section.

Utsugi, Lenka is the protagonist in this anime. He is an opinionated and optimistic character, that reminds me of Naruto in some ways, due to his behavior.  Yet, his most important characteristic is the fact that he's willing to give his own life for the sake of his comrades and friends. He's craving strength just to become able to protect people attacked by the aragami but also to protect people from injustice. He's a motivator and leader respected by the others.

Amamiya, Rindou is my favorite character in this anime. The cool, always smoking leader of the first troop of the Far East Branch. He is a veteran with a long career as a God Eater. When it comes to missions, he is a leader like non other and has only three rules: 1. Don't die, 2.If you're about to die, run and 3. If you get the chance kill it. The most important thing for him is the safety of his comrades. He sees Lenka as his successor when it comes to guiding the others in finding the right path in life.

Alisa illinichina Amiella is the main female character in this anime I guess. I put her here because I've always loved strong and independent female characters like her. True, she's not that strong due to a trauma in her childhood. Her parents were killed by an Aragami and so she sometimes falls into shock during a battle and so fails in her mission. Still she has a lot of pride and always says what's on her mind, trying to act thug all the time. I liked her :D.

Animation and Style

Now this is an amazing example when it comes to animation of 2015. The animation of God Eater is outstanding. I loved it. Colorful, bright colors and smooth. Can't be better. 10/10.

When it comes to style...I loved it. I actually started watching because of the animation and style. The style is so unique and is definitely the first anime to try something like this-a kind of watercolor-3D effect. At least I remember it as the first one. It was also obvious that others liked it to because anime like Ajin and Hai to Gensou no Grimgar copied that style. Besides, I am usually not a fan of monster-looks in most anime, but God Eater nailed it. They are really one of a kind and different from everything else you've see.

Conclusion: The animation and style are so good that even if every other aspect like story and characters were bad, it would be worth watching. 

Conclusion

If you don't like anime with the topic of an apocalyptic world destroyed by huge monsters watch God Eater because you'll probably change your opinion about them. If not, than just do because you must not miss such a great animation work. In short, the anime is interesting, the story is rich in good background stories and messages and you get a huge load of action in only 13 episodes. For God Eater : 8/10!
